Founding Partner

Daniel Vale

Daniel leads the firm's commercial contracts and disputes work, from negotiating agreements to litigating them.

Daniel co-founded Nexum Law with a view that the best contract lawyers understand how agreements fail in court, and the best litigators understand how deals are made.

He negotiates commercial agreements for clients across services, manufacturing and technology, and represents businesses in contract, partnership and shareholder disputes.

His dispute work begins with an early, written assessment of the client's position and a budget by phase.

Daniel's contract work centres on master services, supply and distribution agreements where one side is materially larger than the other. On the disputes side he handles breach of contract claims, partnership and shareholder disagreements and pre-suit negotiations, and he regularly represents clients in mediation before deciding whether litigation is worth its cost.
